Looking for a Raindrop.io alternative to recommend links?

Raindrop.io is a full bookmark manager: it helps you save, organise, search and reach your bookmarks across devices. Quickrefs serves a different need: turning selected links into public recommendations, with context written by a person.

From a saved bookmark to an explained recommendation

Instead of sharing a folder of bookmarks, you send a ready list to a class, team, newsletter or community — with an explanation of where to start and what each source offers.

Why Quickrefs

Save from where you already work. Publish when you're ready.

  • A curator's note on every link: why it's worth your time.
  • A public page with your name, your contacts and your selection.
  • Save from the Chrome or Edge extension, the bookmarklet, or your phone.
  • Import your browser bookmarks or a Raindrop.io export.
  • Embed the collection in your blog or in Notion, with the curator's note on every link.
No algorithm in between

Whoever gets your link sees exactly what you chose

On social media, your post competes with whatever the platform decides to show. On Quickrefs, the collection is your own page: the order, the selection and the notes are the ones you set.

  • No feed, no automatic recommendations, no paid ranking.
  • Your content doesn't vanish after a few days, or depend on engagement to be seen.
  • The link works anywhere: WhatsApp, email, class, a newsletter or a bio.

Pricing: compare the yearly cost and what comes with it

Both have generous free plans. On yearly billing, Quickrefs Pro costs US$9 less at list price (US$19 against US$28) — but the packages aren't the same: one prioritises publishing and measuring, the other archiving and searching.

Frequently asked questions

Is Quickrefs a good alternative to Raindrop.io?

It can be — if you want to share recommended references, explain why each link deserves attention and have a curation page with your identity. If you mainly need full-text search, a page archive or a manager for personal use, Raindrop.io may serve you better.

Does Raindrop.io have public pages too?

Yes. It publishes collections as read-only pages and creates a personal page with your public collections. What Quickrefs adds is the curator's note on every link and a page designed for the person receiving it — with authorship, contacts and context.

Does a visitor to a public collection pay anything?

No. Reading a public collection on Quickrefs is always free, and doesn't need an account.

Can I use both?

Yes. Plenty of people keep the personal archive in Raindrop.io and use Quickrefs to publish the selection worth sharing.

Can I embed the collection on my site or in Notion?

Yes. In the collection editor, the Embed button generates a link (to paste in Notion with /embed) and a code (for blogs that accept HTML). The widget comes as a list, compact or cards, in a light or dark theme, and updates by itself when you edit the collection. It's free on every plan, with a small “Made with Quickrefs” badge that Pro removes. Raindrop.io also offers embeds of public collections.
